Milestones achieved on 6/21:

PhotoLenny - 1500 (1502)
---------------------------------------------

artemedes is movin' on up in the Race to 3500, jumping two positions to number 55 while IBHacknU and Wiz keep running neck and neck with nearly identical daily output over the last few days. Good race going on here!

MaxSiren and mgpaulus continue their unwavering persuit of def in the Race to Catch def, steadily gaining ground on their prey. We're all breathlessly awaiting another one of your patented bursts, def! ;)

Looks like Maku just might wrap up the Race to 2000 this weekend. Way to go, Maku! Get the babes and beer ready to ship out, Assimilator1.

Position changes for those racers with fewer than 2500 wu's are not even worth going into today since the shuffle yesterday with tuffguy leaving and then rejoining the TeAm. (He's back!!! Hooray!!! :D )

---------------------------------------------

As always, let me know of any new challenges.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

<I'm looking after them atmheh..........*whisper mode* shh don't tell Poof!>

/me gets an devilish grin.........do I hear opportunity knocking? :p

decisions, decisions.
Should I be a good friend to Poof, and tell her?
Then again, don't want to be a snitch.
Should I blackmail Assimilator1, and maybe get some extra WUs out of him?
Then again, I don't like blackmailers at all.
Should I be a good friend to Assim, and keep quiet?
Then again, I don't care for "good ol boy" networks.

Hmmmm, maybe I'll just wait and see what happens...

Oh wait, did I type that out loud? :Q:Q

Thanks for the stats OD!

I hope I can save up for a "burst" sometime in the near future. Would be very welcome, but I'm afraid the power outtages occuring my area lately are killing my production. I swear I can get over 1 month of uptime on my 1 yr old Win98SE install if the power will stay on!!! :D

Guess you guys will just have to wait a little while longer to see what's in store for the unfortunate contenders trying to unseat the almighty DEF!!! :p

Why not find someone to race with ? :)
Look in the weekly production stats to see who produces a similar amount

btw ,your sig ,is that the U2 song?

Yes, it is a U2 song. Titled "Sunday Bloody Sunday."

I have a question. I am running a 1.33ghz Athlon w/ 512mb ddr ram, but am only computing wu's about every 8 hours. I believe I should be going faster, right? I set seti@home to go to blank screen immediatly. Is there anything else I can do to increase speed?

Yep, you should be doing better than that. I have a 1.1 GHz (not overclocked) 200MHz FSB Athlon which averages just over 6 hrs with the CLI. Also a 1 GHz pIII that averages about 6.5 hrs per wu. O/S also seems to make a difference. NT/2000 seem to process quicker than Win 9x/ME.

You can find the CLI version here:

http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/unix.html

Look for i386-winnt-cmdline.exe about half-way down the page. (This will run on NT/2000 and Win 9x/ME.)

Using the CLi(text) version of SETI will reduce your times significantly:).
Here's some examples

Athlon 700 GUI 11hrs ,CLi 8.5hrs
PIII 500@515 GUI 15hrs ,CLi 11hrs
PII 333@374 GUI 20hrs ,CLi 15hrs

Also to manage the CLi client more easily & to store some WU's (incase of server outages) you'll want to use SETIDriver
