Excitement and thrills slam their way through the capacity crowd watching the The Crunch Bunch Munch to 1500 like the jolt one would receive by stepping out of the shower and shoving your fingers in the wall outlet for the clothes dryer. Yesterday morning, the team of Toft / Vold - DK were cruising with the lead. This morning they find themselves staring at the powerful (albeit unattractive 😛) aft sections of two other racers. Swerving wide to avoid a wipeout, Minnie Minendo pulls his rigs around the team of Great Danes to take over the lead, a position the team of Tofters and Volders have laid claim to since the second day of this thriller. Expertly using the draft from Minnie's rigs, Rowdy Ray opens the throttle on the red Rascal Rider as wide as it will go and rides Minnie's coat tails around the Danes, playfully poking the Cane of Tickle in Toft's ribs on the way by, nearly causing an unfortunate skid. While not at all too pleased with Rowdy Ray's tickle torture, [/b]Toft[/b] should be relieved that Ray kept the Cane of Flatulence holstered. I think he's saving that one for Minendo...
While the power purges being procured by the dumpage brokers in Clash of the Super WU Poopers are indeed the penultimate thrill for afficienados of the wu dump, The Great 10K CountDown is providing it's own brand of excitement. These Anandtechers are not necessarily racing each other. They are chasing after the Holy Grail of milestones, the supreme moment when the Seti cruncher morphs from four digits to five, the thrill of earning the milestone so high that the Berkeley people believed that so few would reach it, they made it the destination for their final award certificate. 10,000 Seti wu's is the goal. Is it any suprise that this bracket is saturated with smilies and shockies as the participants anxiously close in on that shining milestone? By the end of July, all of these Anandtechers will have reached that wondrous mark and will walk out of the 10K victory lounge wearing 10 gold K Keys and a smile after hearing the best quantum mechanics lecture from our hottub babes that they've ever had the pleasure of hearing. Onward to glory, oh brave wu warriors!
It would seem that I'm a popular target. This morning, another veteran racer joins the group chasing down my rear in the Race to Catch the Race Coordinator. Major Tom Tarca teams up with the posse of the Sheriff and the defster trying to make certain that I don't wear the number 34 on my back for long. Catch me if you can, guys! The misplaced Aggie has decided that enough is enough in the Race to 9000. After weeks of loosing ground to Pazoo, cakin lets loose a mighty blast from his wu guns and powers forward 63 wu's, besting Zoo by one. The mucster, also hearing footsteps from behind, turns on the after burners to the tune of 19 wu's but Eltano1's nifty two-zero narrows the gap further in the Race to 6000. Meanwhile, in Another Race to 4000, the prowling Freewolf has chased down Ammocan and handed his prey the keys to fourth place while IceCreamLtDan grabs another bowl of Rocky Road desert and plops a dollop of caramel topping right down Mighty Micron's carburator to grab the number three spot in the 1500 WU Tally Tagger.
Advancements among racers on 6/18 include paf077 up 2 to 129, Freewolf up 3 to 145, Maku up 1 to 95, marrkks up 3 to 360.
