Numbers are for about 22h 40m because of yesterday morning's stats outage at Berkeley so they are a bit low.
We've got to go all the way down to the Race to 9000 to find our first smilie award this morning. This distinguished bracket sees each and every participant earn an "atta-boy!" despite the shortened stats day. Out in front, Mad Max continues to run with the lead, topping out at 27 which is a highly impressive 10 wu's above his predicted average since the Canadian Olympic hockey team is no longer crunching for him. Baldy18, Mad Max's former benefactor, impresses the judges with 38 from the number three spot, exceeding the mis-placed Aggie's 32 as cakin's makin bacon from the second position, 54 wu's behind the Crunchin' Canadian. But high production honors for the day go to pa-zoo-loo with 47, nine wu's higher than his next closest competitor.
One bracket down in the Race to 7000, the Sinister Oscillator is wobblin' like mad with 44 to pick up 15 wu's on the second position currently occupied by Spumoni Jabroni. Not long ago, the Evil One was in the low 20's with his dailies but has picked up the pace admirably since the start of the race. Not content with tearing up the track in just one race, the Crazee Dude has to strike fear in competitors in this race as well, earning his almost daily production award with 52. Way out in front, Crabby, everybody's favorite crustacean, continues to side-step along, gleefully snapping his fore-claws, delighted at the large lead he currently owns but still looking for another sister to assimilate and salivating (if crabs do that) at the thought of that nice new Radeon AIW that might be in his near future.
The returns from the May Mauling to 3500 make the race statistician wonder if perhaps Berkeley is experiencing some constriction problems again. With nine wu's the high water mark and two racer's flat-lined, that would appear to be the case. Only two smilies today in The Mid-Major Crunch to 2500 with a Handicapped NWM, one belonging to the afore-mentioned Crazee and the other to everyone's favorite stats master, soni, who turns in a very impressive 78 to please his sizable following of race fanatics in the stands. Just look at the log-jam of talent in the Race to Crunch 1000 with a Crazee Twist occupying positions two through four! Migroo (896), Mighty Micron (888), EvaderMan (876), and the Chilly Digit (844) are given the crowd their money's worth and the rowdy fans respond by starting the wave, encouraging their favorite dumper to purge even harder. Freewolf is now threatening to run away with the crown in The M & M Boys & Some Others Race to Crunch 1000! Yesterday saw the liberated canid stuff 19 wu's down the wu chute, extending his lead to 54 over minendo who appears to be experiencing some unfortunate technical maladies. Hopefully it's nothing more than a stuck queue.
