For the first day in what seems like a month, no racers cross the finish line. Whew! It's been quite a couple of weeks and it's about time to dream up some more races as the active ranks keep thinning out. If anybody would care to join the Race to Smash the Race Coordinator, you're more than welcome to join in.
What was once a sleeper is now a hotly contested battle. The Team AnandTech SETI 1000 saw many many days where frglss was stuck at wu marker 757, his pit crews working furiously to revive the chipmunks and get the racing rigs back on the track. Finally, after countless days of performing chipmunk CPR, frglss and his crew chief were able to bring the gutsy little rodents back to life and push the rigs back out onto the racing oval. While there may not be enough time to catch JetsFanatic, who continued to round the track at a reduced rate of speed, it's great to see frglss back in the driver's seat once again.
We're seeing quite a few higher-than-expected dailies from a number of our racers in our crunches to 1500. Minnie Minendo continues to lead the pack in the 1500 WU Tally Tagger, cruising nicely with his newly upgraded rigs. Yesterday's 24 extended his lead to a commanding 66 over the migrooster while the Icecream Lieutenant settles into a close third after being passed by the friendly Brit early this morning. Mighty Micron catches up one click on Icecream from the fourth spot but still cruises 13 wu's to the rear. Meanwhile, the Liberated Predatory Canid ravenously chews on the rotting carcass of his pre-race penalty from the last position, his 34 a testament to his newly discovered power. In a matter of days, Freewolf has knocked over 210 wu's off his handicap.
Crouched low over the handlebars, revenge on his mind, his right wrist bent back as far as possible to open the throttle on the red Rascal Rider as wide as it will go, Rowdy Ray slowly clicks off the distance between himself and the second place Innuendo Minendo. Ray's left hand reaches into his cane holster as he tries to determine the type of dastardly plan he will formulate to pay back Minnie for knocking him into third place. Perhaps he'll use the armor plated Cane of Carnage, ideal for busting spokes, or knuckles, whichever one prefers. The Cane of Sludge, advertised as "An Oil Slick in a Tube!" might also be fun. Then there's the heinous feather tipped Cane of Tickle, a handy addition to anyone's cane collection. Ideal for shoving into a competitor's ribs or armpits to invoke uncontrolled laughter ultimately resulting in a wipe out, Rowdy Ray has used this insidious member of his arsenal on many previous occasions. Whichever he ends up pulling out of the holster, Minnie had best be prepared for utter chaos once Ray closes in.
ICXRa is running roughshod over his competitors in Another Race to 4000 from the number three spot. Now only 70 wu's behind Panhead49, competition has definitely brought ou the best in the rookie. "Don't muck with Mucman!", shouts the Mucster as he turns and waves at Eltano1 from the lead position in the Race to 6000. Meanwhile, paf077 slices and dices up a stellar 44 from the trailing position to continue closing the gap between himself and the rest of the pack. Crazee is smokin' in the Race to 7000! This morning sees the Wild Man hand over the keys to fourth place to No Baloney Jabroni as he now sets his sights on Crabby's crustacean butt. Up front, EvilWobbles, his rear wrapped up in duct tape after having a few pounds of flesh extracted by ElFenix's pincers as he passed yesterday morning, maintains his 40-plus pace to lengthen his lead.
