The parade of race winners continue this morning with no fewer than three champions (well, two) being crowned.
With a flood of wet dribble and drool, DroolMAN! sloshes and slobbers his way across the finish line in The Great 10K CountDown to become the 49th Team AnandTecher to break the five digit barrier and earn the super kudos that go along with the great five digit rollover. Covering race officials and spectators alike with wave after wave of water, the Slobber Guy runs a two day total of 191 workunits Berkeley's way to storm passed crt1530 who gave it a valiant try but ended up hydro-planing crazily on all the saliva left in Droolie's wake as he sailed by. A hearty welcome to the 10K club to DroolMAN!! Come on in to the 10K lounge, grab a brew and a nice warm towel and enjoy some scintillating convos with the race babes. And as an extra special prize for the wettest racer to ever run on SRL tracks, we have a specially designed hand crafted gold plated diamond studded spitoon with your name engraved on the rim. Also joining Droolie in the winner's circle today is that famous British racer who's dance card is always filled. Yes, we're talking about the migrooster who just can't seem to get enough of racing. Today he set's an SRL record and will forever be remembered in the history books as the first SRL participant to win two races on the same day. :Q Satisfying his personal challenge with days to spare in 2000 by 6/1/2002 - Migroo's June Swoon, migroo turns the swoon to a bloom and shatters his challenge date by a whopping six days! And as an encore, the migrooster also takes the checkered flag in The M & M Boys & Some Others Race to Crunch 1000, besting everybody's favorite crustacean ElFenix to the 1000 wu tally ticker. But now perhaps the greatest challenge for the British gentleman is at hand since unless you want to disappoint a few of our lovely race babes, you are required by SRL rules to attend both victory parties, lounge in both hottubs AND keep both sets of race babes occupied with some riveting conversations regarding particle physics and quantuum theory. Perhaps your greatest challenge lies ahead... Congratulations, migrooster!
Migroo must certainly like to see his name in print because besides earning two SRL trophies today, he kicks off another new race called the 1500 WU Tally Tagger. Joining the Brit are IcecreamLtDan, Innuendo Minendo (who likes to keep his race docket full as well), TA-Seti's milestone stats master Mighty Micron, and the liberated predatory canid Freewolf who only days before was hankering for some competition and now finds himself in the middle of two heart pounding thrillers. Migroo, Minnie, and Freewolf have ushered in a new era of SRL racer, the highly trained crunchathlete who thrives on competing in multiple racing events simultaneously, putting their finely honed dumping muscles to the ultimate test. In this tally tagger, the Wolfster begins with a race sanctioned voluntary penalty of 600 wu's to level the playing field. But by the looks of the first day's tally, we may need to increase that penalty a bit! :Q Good luck gentlemen, and may the best cruncher win!
The Hackster has awakened from his slumber, slamming 247 wu's through the wu chute to capture third place from the friendly Hawaiian Izzy in Race to Crunch 3000 with a Clobbered Pie. While that is in and of itself an impressive dump, my calculations indicate that there are plenty more where that came from so Pie and Smokie had best remain on high alert. Could the defster be powering up his fleet to begin his mammoth charge to the finish line, sweeping aside an unsuspecting Zappin' Zod in the Race to 12,000? Is the unexpected 84 from the El Camino a portent of more dumpage to come? This race reporter would not be one bit suprised. A mini-battle has arisen amongst the remaining racers in The Great 10K CountDown. Major Tom Tarca crests the 100 wu mountain and is trying valiantly to hold off the hard-charging IJump for the right to morph behind crt1530. Keep your eyes on this one.
