Two crunch-fests come to a close this morning allowing two more racers to add their names to the famous rotating wall of fame known as the 10 Most Recent Race Winners. First to the long and winding road referred to as the Race to Crunch 1000. This contest begain some months back with a number of fresh crunchers who joined our ranks to help in the race with DSL Reports. Two were left on the track to battle it out to the finish and one has emerged victorious this morning. That gentleman hails from the UK and adds an impressive 46 workunits to his expanding total thrusting himself across the finish line to earn his first SRL victory. That individual is none other than migroo and this morning the winner's hottub and a celebratory brewskies are his to enjoy, but only for a little while because the migrooster is currently crowing in several other races on the SRL circuit. Congratulations, migroo, and to you as well, WHSLacrosseKid.
Our other close-out race this morning is the drag race between Admiral Engineer and Major Tom in the Race to Crunch 3000. In another long and drawn out battle, Admiral Engineer finally steers his fleet of Federation Galaxy class cruisers across the finish line to earn his first victory in quite some time on the SRL racing circuit. Admiral Engineer began this race by hitting a bit of rough space right out of the starting blocks, sucking a few small asteroid fragments into the dark-matter input phase converters but his crack engineering crew managed to fix the micro-fractures in the tritanium plating of the vector ducting in a hurry and got the starship back on it's high-parsec daily jaunt after only a few sub-light days. Congratulations on the victory, Admiral Engineer! We've got some green-skinned Rigelian pleasure babes waiting for you in the hottub, guarding some fresh contraband Romulan Ale that's been chilling in the refrigeration unit in the winner's lounge.
Cygor & Cobra finish up their monster dump that began yesterday with a little 123 workunit trickle, the final few drops of which vault them up two positions in TeAm standings to the number six spot overall. Quite impressive, C & C! On their way to the Encounter at FarPoint - Sector 16,000, Captain Scott has put together a number of high-parsec days, besting his racing nemesis Captain Poopsie in each of the last five days. Unfortunately for Captain Scott's warped-up science vessel, it may not be enough to catch the USS Poop before the latter reaches the abandoned Federation outpost. The crew of the USS Guid has been searching star-charts and sector mappings frantically for a wormhole, stable or otherwise, that can vault them to sector 16,000 ahead of the swash-buckling captain of the USS Poop.
The defster slams the pedal to the metal and the old faithful El Camino responds marvelously by surging forward 113 wu's, causing more than just a little concern to crease the brows of his competitors in both of his racing undertakings. Zappin' Zod looms only 166 wu's ahead in the Race to 10,000, hoping that that was the last quirt of go-gas left in the rogue racer's nitrous-oxide bottle. Unfortunately, The Very Very Loooonnnnggg Race to 10,000 says goodbye to one of it's original members as the Sinister Oscillator has to bow out because of a reduction in fleet power, but the Evil One will still give the British Bulldogs a run for their Euros in the Race to 5000. Three shockies and a smilie are awarded to the participants in the The Mid-Major Crunch to 2500 with a Handicapped NWM as the defster maintains his lead despite an impressive 91 from Yield and smilies galore go out to the rumblers in our other two crunch fests to 1000. Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't call everyone's attention to the Pie Guy's monster dumpage from the ranks of the Lonely Racers.
