Walked into the office to find high winds overnight (steady 30-35 mph, gusts up to 70 :Q) knocked out power to my office machines (and knocked loose a rain gutter on my house :disgust: ). 10 crunchers sitting idle for over 12 hours.
Today's stats reveal another winner in Another Race to 6000. This time it's Slahr Dzhe who crosses the finish line, winning another milestone trophy for the mantle and a K-Key that unlocks the door to the 6K lounge where the race babes are waiting beside the hottub for someone to join them for a little party, having waited nearly five days for another winner to signal the start of another celebration. The last person to cross in this bracket was the Crunchin' Canadian Mad Max way back on February 23rd. SD went through a bit of a downturn shortly after the race's inception, but came on strong over the last several weeks since the Great Berkeley Bandwidth Blockade, obliterating his prior daily average of 29 by a significant amount, cresting 90 on several momentous days. Congratulations on the 6K milestone, SD.
The Race to 10,000 between that rogue racer in the El Camino def, lane42 and GreatWhiteNorth has a new leader on the boards this morning. Under the cover of darkness, the defster put the pedal to the metal and roared by lane42 into the lead, trailing a bit of blue smoke from the dual exhausts of his muscular Chevy. With nothing but open air and clear roads before him to the promised land of 10K, the defster has answered the challenge and thrown down the gauntlet to his race mates. "Catch me if you can, suckers!", yells the rogue as he shakes his fist out the window of his powder blue El Camino in the general direction of his pursuers. Time will tell if racers two and three have the horsepower to mount another challenge before the checkered flag looms into view.
The misplaced Aggie begins to make up some ground on the good ambassador Baldy18 in the April Fool's 6000. A brief lull in the Bald One's production has allowed cakin to close to within 39 wu's, mounting a serious challenge to what once seemed to be a secure lead. As prognosticated in yesterday's thread, an Eltano Explosion has occurred in the Race to 5000. Watching as nearly 400 wu's splatter in all directions, the man from Miami gives a cheery wave to his racemate EvilWobbles as he scorches by. The only thing that the Sinister Oscillator can do is smile meekly and wave back in shocked disbelief as the blur named Eltano1 stirs up the dust on the way by. Wobbs can still hope that Eltano1 is all tuckered out after that super-huge mega-dump and will need several weeks to rest and recover. Wow!
Another lead change has occurred in the Race to 3000 as m2kewl continues his recent run of profound purges. Yesterday's 88 allowed the man who is just too cool for his own good to slide his way past the Jeeper from KC and assume leader duties in the bracket by 5 wu's. But it's a bit too early to begin celebrating yet because there's still a long way to go in this one. The Pie Guy continues his assault on the record books, remaining well above 100 with 131 in the Race to Crunch 3000. Admiral Engineer manages to lead the Federation forward 70 parsecs but each day sees the Awesome Aussie grow smaller and smaller as he lengthens his lead, a lead that now rests at an even 1000. And in the Race to Crunch 1000, Time2Kill lands a ten spot from his first victory on SRL tracks with 990 workunits smashed on his way to the 1K total.
Advancements among racers on 3/9 include def up 1 to 47, Bigwoofer up 3 to 108, IJump up 16 to 214, Eltano1 up 14 to 96, m2kewl up 3 to 132, conjur up 2 to 147, Domination up 2 to 162, Ishmael2k up 1 to 188, Karsten up 1 to 209, Boogak up 1 to 233, Avenger01 up 2 to 236, Jerboy up 1 to 504, DirtSquirt up 9 to 807, lukfilm up 7 to 853, zodder up 1 to 45, Serialb up 2 to 125, Crazee up 6 to 169, Emos up 1 to 207, Nemur up 3 to 217, BigFatCow up 2 to 248, Kruptikos up 2 to 258, zeruty up 2 to 265, Team Geekender up 9 to 834.
