Now that I can catch my breath a little after the rash of race winners this week, I'll finish introducing our new races and racers to the daily race thread.
Popping into the top spot in the race thread is one of TA-Seti's newest members and top producers, Cygor and Cobra who have issued themselves a challenge to surpass the 50,000 wu mark (that's not a typo) by April 31st, 2002. Although they do not dump on a daily basis, their periodic purges should provide the SRL faithful with quite a few thrills when their floodgates do open. Welcome to the Seti Racing League (even though your production almost forces you to race yourselves!), and good luck on your quest to crest the 50,000 wu barrier in less than six weeks! :Q
Three veteran racers team up in quite an intergalactic matchup between two spacefaring species who have less than a stellar reputation throughout the quadrant. Major Tom Tarca and Slahr Dzhe, representing the Borg, are matched up against that enigmatic Cardassian Gul Dukat in a race to 8000 that will hopefully leave at least a few of the nearby planets along the race course with their orbits and technology intact. Dukat has the early lead over Major Tom, whose fleet is employing a few additional weekend assimilations allowing him to cover an extremely impressive 73 parsecs overnight. Bringing up the rear at the moment is Slahr Dzhe, a Borgie coming off a recent victory at sector 6000 that saw him approach the century mark on numerous occasions. Good luck, ummm, gentlemen???? And may the best marauding species win.
Also brand new on the SRL docket today is the Kewl and Crabby Race to 6000 between everybody's favorite Alaskan King Crab with two of the scariest foreclaws ever placed on a decapod crustacean, ElFenix, and m2kewl who was way cool in his recent victory in the Race to 3000. ElFie begins the race with a considerable cushion separating him from 2kewl but 52 wu days can cut that lead to shreds in no time. Perhaps a little claw-snapping is in order to try and keep the Kewl One at least a little honest for a bit. Also new on the racing docket is the Race to 4000 featuring the return of two archrivals and racing veterans, Serialb and DarkMajiq. They are joined on the track by two rookie racers, Rex and GolfGeek who puts down the clubs momentarily to participate in this SRL racing quartet.
A bold prediction from the Stats-O-Matic with the Race Predictor Plugin plants Dazmite, JimButts, and wirelessenabled at the finish line in a race to 3000 on May 11th, 2002. Rookies JimButts and wirelessenabled will have their hands full trying to catch the long-time racing veteran Dazzler who is off to the early lead. And our last new race on the card is the largest race ever run on SRL tracks. This one features 11, count 'em, 11 Seti crackers facing off to see who can crumple up 1000 wu's first in the Race to Crunch 1000 with a Crazee Twist. What's the Crazee Twist, you ask? The Twist is that Crazee is racing to crunch 2000 wu's before the remaining racers can crunch up 1000. This one should be fun to watch, but by the looks of the production by a few of our racers, more than just Crazee should be gunning for the 2000 wu tally. :Q
