Ahhh, sweet relief! It appears that someone plowed the road to Berkeley at some point during the night for many of our racers as many numbers return to normal and some are just downright :Q:Q:Q!
The Race to 1400 is the scene of a suprise finish that shocked the racing referees as well as the fans. Logix and neovan mirror each other's performance to remain equidistant between each other but on the other side of the finish line in a showdown that has become an instant Seti racing classic. Logix, apparently dead on the track, his rigs stalled behind a huge Berkeley road block desperately struggling to push his way through the constricted pipe, could only watch as his nemesis neovan somehow located an open lane and was powering his way towards a dramatic come from behind victory. Just as neo pulled even with logix, a mighty burst cleared the channel ahead and both racers streaked towards the finish line, neck and neck, jostling for position, neither one willing to give an inch. As the checkered flag fell and the smoke cleared, logix had emerged the winner by a total of two tiny wu's and the stunned racing world broke into a deafening roar, echoing their approval and appreciation for the dramatic duel they had just witnessed. Congratulations to both racers!
First on the :Q list this morning is EvilWobbles with a 61 in his extended contest with the Big Dawg to 10,000. The spurt puts the Oscillator nearly 300 wu's ahead, but the 36 exiting from BigWoof's wu chute was enough to raise a few eyebrows as well. The Cardassian, relatively unaffected by Berkeley Bursitis, stomps all over 47 to land 55 from a victory over Fardy in their battle to 6000. Amazingly, Dukat still has a full complement of crew aboard his Galor class cruiser, a revelation that will certainly cause an investigation following the race and perhaps a protest from Fardy's camp. Mad Max has the finish line squarely in his sites in the Race to 6000 following a free and easy 24 that landed him at 5983, only 17 from adding another racing trophy to his already packed trophy case.
Baldy18 creeps back over the 30 mark in the April Fool's 6000 and it's a good thing too, since the Awsome Aussie wears his moniker proudly this morning after chasing 97 whopping wu's towards Berkeley's recently opened wu way. The participants in the Race to 3000 earn two shockies and two smilies amongst their ranks with conjur leading the way with a major league 70, while the remaining trio in that bracket hover in the high thirties. The March March to 2000 sees Ish pick up his toys and double-quick his way to 21 workunits to keep his margin over a streaking neovan at a comfortable cushion and micron slaps around 21 busted up wu's to pull nearly within 100 of the stalled Texas Two-Stepper Boogak.
But leading the league in shockies this morning are the members in our two races to crunch 3000. Captain Izzy stokes the trans-warp conduits and generates a high-powered transwarp field around his fleet that allows him to cover an astounding 139 parsecs and up his running total to 319, 121 ahead of the Biloxi Bomber who earns his own shockie with 97. It's still very early in this race so their's plenty of time for Smokie's army to mount a charge. Our other race to crunch 3000 featuring Major Tom Tarca and the afore-mentioned Awesome Aussie elicits a multitude of oooohs and aaaaahs from the spectators as Major Tom winds up on the other side of the century mark with 117, besting the Pie Guy's impressive 97, chronicled elsewhere in this report, by 20.
Advancements among racers on 2/21 include crt1530 up 1 to 60, KCJeeper up 2 to 148, conjur up 6 to 181, m2kewl up 3 to 197, Domination up 4 to 199, Ishmael2k up 1 to 189, Karsten up 1 to 243, micron up 2 to 251, Logix up 1 to 221, neovan up 1 to 222, USS Guid up 1 to 28, Electrode up 2 to 110, medic up 1 to 214, Crazee up 1 to 225, BigFatCow up 1 to 256, zeruty up 13 to 323, Team Geekender up 6 to 927.
