This morning dawns over a race that everyone thought would come to a close only to learn that there is still one more day of gut-wrenching, seat-fidgeting, pressure to live through in this tumultuous tumble known as the Race to 8000. As of 6:30 AM EST, no winner had as yet been crowned so in accordance with SRL rules, the struggle will be protracted one more day with the racer with the highest wu total as of 6:30 AM EST tomorrow declared the winner. Admiral Engineer has warped to within 2 measely little wu's of overtaking Rowdy Ray and the TWTA bus following the Ray Meister's call for his team to dump 'em if they got 'em netted an impressive 68. Don't holster that cane just yet, Rowdy Ray.
In the Race to 10,000 the defster, sporting a glossy new paint job on the El Camino, suprises his competitors with a monster day, increasing his Berkeley total by 47 to really put some unwanted pressure on the current leader, lane42. GreatWhiteNorth cruises nearly 1400 wu's behind, realizing this morning that the rogue racer has just upped the ante in their search for the 10,000 wu holy grail. Fardy vs the Cardy - Part Deux sees Fardringle best the Cardassian by one, causing the irrepressible Gul Dukat to fly into a rage. Two more unsuspecting crew members are said to have been ordered to clear the matter/anti-matter injectors while some suspicious looking garbage was dumped from Dukat's waste port directly in the Ute's path. My guess is those aren't space bouys.
The Awesome Aussie is clearly the class of his bracket on this day as the sun rises on 52 busted up workunits from Down Under in the April Fool's 6000. Making a move in impressive fashion in Another Race to 6000, Slahr Dzhe runs a mammoth 59 wu's through his rigs to hand over last position honors to the enormous Alaskan King Crab who snaps a foreclaw in the general direction of SD as he passes. BigWoofer steals the show in the 3000 WU Romp, nearly eclipsing the 50 mark doubling up on the leader JimMc's 24 and everybody in the Race to 3000 earns either a smilie or a dropped jaw as production proved prodigious for everyone in that bracket.
Another Race to 2500 between serialb and everyone's favorite Canadian, DarkMajiq is certainly beginning to heat up as the Calgary Kid crosses the 2400 mark and now rests only 39 wu's behind the Sequentially Transmitted B. Time will be the determining factor in the outcome of this race. Pyxis exceeds his normal production by a significant margin this morning with 17 while Domination sets his sights on the Evader in the Race to 2000. Newcomer Karsten continues his run, stepping off the distance in impressive fashion in the March March to 2000 and young micron cracks 30 from the back of the pack gunning for 1500. The Fabulous February 1500 is living up to it's name with ShotgunSteve and Avenger01 waging a thrilling mini-war battling only 12 wu's apart and Time2Kill impresses the judges in the Race to Crunch 1000 with 32.
