Another champion is crowned this morning as Terrible Teriba powers his way around the final turn and into the stretch, taking the checkered flag in the Team AnandTech SETI 500. Considered by many to be the first major milestone on the trail to Seti greatness, 500 wu's is quite an achievement, and we in the SRL agree. We've got some wonderful prizes for you this morning, Teriba. Let's let Vanna tell you what you've won. Uhhh, Vanna? Hehe... Don't know where she got off to... OK, let's see... What do we have for you... Here's half a bottle of near beer... and a dirty sock. :Q Hmmm... We also have another new contest to add to your racing form this morning. Two veterans return to the spotlight along with another brand spanking new rookie. Micron, fresh off his valiant attempt at catching the Portly Bovine in their quick race to 1000, re-enters the racing arena along with the famous Texas Two-Stepper, Boogie Woogie as they decide to chase down the half-way point between the first two K-Clubs at 1500. Joining the two veterans is another racing rookie, Nemur who has been itching for a little competition. The first day of action sees the newcomer make an exhuberant entrance to the SRL by out-producing his bracket-mates with 15 wu's in this romp that will bring us into the first week of March. Good luck, gentlemen!
Just when everyone thought that the Tortoise was well on his way to avoiding the soup pot, Berkeley decides to have a few more bandwidth problems and Polo has trouble getting high-fiber wu's for the turtle to eat. In the meantime, turtle rights activists are beginning to line the race course near the finish line, protesting what they feel is demeaning to the dignity of the turtle. What a revolting development. Seeing the inexorable manner in which Admiral Engineer is continually advancing on the TWTA bus' position, Rowdy Ray unholsters his cane and begins to wave it menacingly at the quickly approaching Federation from the seat of his red Rascal Rider. With only a scant 12 wu's separating the two powerhouses, tomorrow morning should prove telling.
In Fardy vs the Cardy - Part Deux, Gul Dukat will soon run out of crew at the rate he's tossing them into the matter/anti-matter chamber. Yesterday saw the Cardy nearly break 50, extending his lead over Fardy to 125 wu's. Pabster has closed to within an even 100 of the ever consistent Electrode in the Free-For-All to 3000 but time may be running out for Pabs. JimMc breaks 30 in the Romp to 3000 and PhotoLenny spurts forward in A Photograph of Confusion at 3000, turing in an impressive 17. Newcomer Karsten breaks into quadruple digits in his race, dominating the bracket with 23 in the March March to 2000 and ShotgunSteve puts the chill on eight wu's, extending his lead to 14 over Avenger01 in what is becoming a dandy contest to 1500.
