The Dazzler showed another bit of versatility last evening with the little "deek" move he used on his competitors. Perhaps they were lulled into a little false sense of security by the rookie's admission that he didn't feel he had the hutzpah to cross the finish line ahead of his competitors. Or perhaps he has been to Smokeball's school of racing strategy and learned from the master himself. Regardless, Dazzling Daz coaxed the requisite horsepower from his rigs to crunch over his average for a third consecutive day and propel himself across the finish line in the Battle Royale to 1500. Congratulations, Daz! But don't go away as JimMc and serialb are still on the track and battling for the right to cross next.
The Quickie to 3000 has had it's share of twists and turns. This morning, in an incredible outcome that will confound the odds-makers for months to come, the Rocker from Long Island, ledzepp98 crashes across the finish line after dumping a phenomenal 76 wu's to capture the trophy and a new K-Club key. What a piece of racing strategy displayed by ledzepp! Knowing that Baldy18 was going to explode at any moment, hurtling himself in the general direction of the finish line, he out-dumped the dumper one day in advance to thwart Baldy's come-back attempt. Congratulations, ledzepp! And congratulations also to the remaining racers to 3000 who have provided us with thrills and spills galore! Seeing that the Bald One still hasn't purged, I have a little advice for the rest of you still battling in that bracket: "Take cover!".
The Race to 2000 also crowns a champion as the winners continue to stream across the finish line this morning. Swanny, honking madly and flapping his huge white wings furiously, takes the checkered flag with plenty of room to spare. What began as a hard-fought and tightly contested battle many weeks ago, became an easy glide to the big pond for the Aquatic White Bird. Congratulations, Swanny! There's still a lot of racing to go as CBW, Super Sukhoi, and Pabster continue their struggle on the track. The rest of this one should be exciting.
"Majiq! Majiq! Majiq!", chants the race crowd as the fan favorite from Calgary, Alberta crosses the finish line to take second place in the Race to 1500. Not wanting to leave their seats until their champion had completed the course, Dark Majiq's following remained boisterous and lively, cheering his every move as he stormed around the final turn and churned for pay dirt. Majiq may have finished second in this race, but he's still number one in the hearts of many SRL followers. Congratulations on the 1.5 K milestone, Majiq!
A new battle begins today. This war will be waged on the road that has seen so much exaltation, and so many tears. It has seen celebrations as well as sorrow. It has chiseled champions from the hard granite of grit, and resolute determination. This is the Road to 1000, where everybody sweats and struggles, shedding bitter tears in the honorable quest to turn three digits into four. Some tread the difficult path for the glory. Some do it in order to experience the intense satisfaction of a conquering an unseen enemy. Yet others do it for the beer and the babes. Regardless of motivation, two gladiators enter the arena today and embark on a journey that will earn them acceptence among the most respected and revered of TA-Seti bretheran. And a little time in the hottub, too. Welcome CRV and ShotgunSteve as they begin their journey to 1000.
