Captain Izzy takes all the suspense out of 3000 WU's or Bust, Baby!. After chilling the transwarp plasma enunciator nipples to a temp well below absolute zero, Captain Izzy set course for the binary star Kumquat VI and Kumquat VII and ordered a full transwarp cold core hot start, saying a little prayer in the process that the USS IsOs would remain in one piece. Well, the ship remained in one piece and the nipples stayed nice and chilly and the IsOs scorched a precision slingshot maneuver around Kumquat VII, emerging from the other side of the star traveling at an unheard of speed of warp 17 but steady and true in a solid transwarp flight profile. When all was said and done, Captain Izzy had covered a Vulcan mind meld boggling 1,483 parsecs, smoking the 3000 wu sector marker and leaving the gallant Captain Clams on the bridge of his ship picking up his teeth. Unfortunately, the USS IsOs did sustain a little structural damage and an overload in the multi-phasic shield generator that may put the ship in space dock for some repairs, but Captain Izzy has always been willing to put it all on the line. Congratulations, Captain Izzy!
An oddity in 2001: A WU Oddesy, where the top three racers each plunk down 44 workunits. Conjur, Wayne's World, and Swingin' Swanny all crack double quads, stirring the crowd into a frenzy at the impressive spectacle of amazing synchronized crunching. RattleDagger is shakin' his rattle profusely in the 1000 WU Woad Wally. His 29 from yesterday has allowed the Rattler to pull to within striking distance of KCJeeper at 578, only two behind the current leader. Meanwhile, Poopsie and Special K are locked in a dandy in the middle of the pack, matching each other's 19's to keep the status quo. The 1000 Workunit Blitz is promising the crowd a fantastic finish as the Portly Bovine is in full gallop, stampeding his way towards the finish line. Now only one wu to crt1530's rear, BigFatCow is poised to take the lead and thunder into the victory lounge.
