The noise from the crowd is a deafening roar as the lead racers in THE Race to 2500 thunder down the home stretch. Not one seat in the house has a butt still in it, everyone standing, stomping, clapping, screaming for one of the greatest groups of racers embattled in the most exciting race the SRL has ever seen. I think we're gonna sell a lot of t-shirts after this one, folks! GreatWhiteNorth, the rookie who began the race in last place, with a stirring run through the ranks, powers his fleet across the finish line to take the checkered flag in a race that will soon become legend, holding off courageous late charges by Baldy18, ledzepp98, the Great Dane, and Jumpin' Jwyatt. I am at a loss for words! Hearty congratulations, GWN, to you and to that entire group of gallant competitors. This race will most certainly be hard to top.

In a tremendous display of pin-point accuracy and skill, thecool1 performs a monster dump of 75 workunits, thrusting his rigs from a dead stop, through the air in a blaze of fire, smoke, dust, and numerical packets, landing them all at once, smack dab on top of the 1500 wu marker in the Race to 1500! That is a feat of preposterous proportions that I for one have never witnessed in my many months of race reporting. The thrillingly outlandish stunt hands thecool1 yet another victory on SRL tracks, this one quite a while in coming. Don't go away because there's still two combatants on the track in this race, with a third recruit hopefully on the way. Congratulations, Cool Guy. Now it's time for me to get busy and find you another race.

On a day where we crown two champions, we also usher in a new race, another battle to 2500, between a seasoned race veteran and another SRL rookie. Let's everyone cup your left hand in your right arm-pit and flap your right arm twice and give PhotoLenny a hearty welcome to the Seti Racing League in traditional TA-Seti fashion! Today he joins the grizzled young veteran Electrode in what should be an exciting contest to 2500 which the SOM Race Predictor says should end right around the beginning of 2002.

One day before "Leav-ing, on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again...", (isn't that an old Peter, Paul, and Mary tune???), Titan JW finally breaks the century production mark with an even 100 workunits. With JW's army crunching unattended for the next ten days, the final page of the Clash of the Titans story could be written right here. It could usher in a victory for JW, or it could offer Titan soni a ray of hope in his quest to hold off his closest pursuer. Back in the captain's chair aboard the USS IsOs, Captain Izzy orders the loafers to the brig who allowed the ship to plod along on thrusters only and engages the engines at maximum warp. On his first day back in command, Izzy covers an astounding 112 parsecs, causing Captain OD who's been monitoring the IsOs's plight on long range sensors, to break out in a cold sweat.

The Federation comes up big on all three battle fronts with 57 workunits and DroolMAN! dribbles out 88, shortening his distance to another crown to 150. In the Wind Sprint to 3200, the Cardassian begins to return to his old form, nearly reaching 30 for the first time in a long while as he chases down the Californian Maku and sparks continues his dominance in the Battle Royale to 1500, turning in an amazing 39 to lead his bracket where all competitors reached double digits. muadib hits ten as he closes in on entering the first K-Club while Clueless closes ranks at the rear of the pack. Down in the Marathon to 1000, Tarca is all business as the babe waving the checkered flag is within view, now only 43 wu's ahead. And finally today, special congratulations goes out to eltano1 who suffered through some severe mechanical problems early on in his race to 1000. Today the Man from Miami crosses over into quadruple digits and earns his first K-Club key. Congratulations, Gus!

Advancements among racers on 11/15 include The Federation up 1 to 63, Gul Dukat up 1 to 82, GreatWhiteNorth up 2 to 90, Baldy18 up 1 to 93, Toft up 3 to 96, Slahr Dzhe up 1 to 103, IceCreamLtDan up 1 to 108, DroolMAN! up 3 to 125, Swanny up 1 to 133, ConfusedBW up 1 to 138, thecool1 up 7 to 151, Dazmite up 2 to 162, sparks up 7 to 166, JimMc up 1 to 178, pyxis up 3 to 218, Clueless up 2 to 242, Ishmael2k up 2 to 290, Dingas up 1 to 250, Tarca up 3 to 212, PieDerro up 7 to 240, Boogak up 3 to 321, Corsairpro up 4 to 385, Yield up 1 to 42, Ishmael2k up 2 to 290.

Thanks for the stats update and nice commentary!:)

I lost the EPOX KPX-B6 with dual Celeron 300 at 450, (SETI Q machine) while I was away. Burned cpu voltage regulator circuit - the 3rd KPXB6 board I've lost this way - different power supplies, different locations and all using different UPS. I probably got all the bad boards from EPOX (brought from different vendors as well:(.

I think there are completed workunits in that Q. I hope I could get a replacement board soon.:)

I dont think I'm going to make it.. JWM sure seems strong at the moment, even if the fleet is on autocruise :D

Best of luck JWM, I just wish I could have been more of an opponent ;)

Thank you OhioDude and everyone else!

I want to thank my Momma and Elvis and....

No seriously, this race has made me realize again how fun it can be to part of a team. I was bummed after the whole affair with RC5 but everyone here in the 'SETI camp' has brought the fun back to DC for me. I am going on vacation this week so production is on autopilot and may dip, but when I return I look forward to the next milestone race.

Thanks again to everyone in the race (Baldy18, LedZepp98, Toft, Jwyatt, Slahr Dzhe, IceCreamLtDan, and Sorcerer) and OD for making us laugh along the way.

Congrats to Baldy18 for hitting the milestone just hours behind me.

What a race!
