The Century Stud Stomp to 5000 crowns it's second winner this morning as Commander Smoke marches his army across the finish line whistling the stirring melody of "Bridge Over the River Kwai" in unison. So striking is the cadence and so perfect the unison, that the entire crowd in the packed stadium joins in as Smokie's grand rank and file march towards the winner's circle. What a glorious run Smokeball's fine troops made at Admiral Engineer and the Federation, making their ride towards the finish line a tense one, but the Feds shouldered too much firepower in the end, sliding across the line three days ahead of Smokie and his well drilled platoon. Congratulations, Smokeball, to you and your awesome army of crunchers. It is an honor to be able to cover you and your recruits as they climb their way up the TA ranks.
Silencing his critics and wiping the smiles off the faces of his competitors who seemed intent on burying him, Mighty Micron blasts his way back to the front of the pack in the 2000 WU Packet Blaster. Smashing to smithereens 132 workunits, Micron leaves Jumpin' Jatwell spinning along the side of the track and Sizzlin' Soni in a slow burn. While the world thought that Micron's engines were sputtering, he was actually just tinkling in his queue. Starrider has taken over the lead in the Wascally WU Whapper to 1500, perhaps for good now that Captain OD is minus his Xeon booster and is cruising with a busted power coupling on deck forty. OD quickly scans the aft sensors for Muckity Mucman who will most likely be approaching his position soon.
The team of Great Danes, Team Tofter / Volder, are on their way to obliterating their personal challenge of 12,000 wu's by 12/9. At a current tally of 11,738, 12K should fall with the next week at their current pace. A fine display of crunching catharsis by our Danish contigent. The British Bulldog Racers had best be keepin' an eye on the rear flanks in The Crunch & Munch 10K. Paf077 is knockin' down the packets with the seriousness of a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest. His 64 from yesterday pulls him to just slightly over 200 wu's from BBR with a long way to go in this race. SoulAssassin is trying to put as much distance between himself and Darth Polo as possible in 2001: A WU Oddesy. He knows that it's only a matter of time before the Sith has his hyperdrive repaired and will most likely be making an all out attack on SA's grasp of first place.
