"Hup! Hup! Hup, two, three, four!" Commander Smoke marches his rag tag army of crunchers expertly across the finish line in the Race to Crunch 7500, marching the final 209 miles on the double-quick. It was a valiant effort put forth by Captain Kewlie throughout the duration of the contest but Smoke's army just had a little too much firepower for Kewlie to handle. And on a related note, doubling up on their crunching pleasure, Team Smokeball also earns their 45th K key. Now it's time for Smokeball to sign liberty passes for his entire army so they can enjoy a little R & R in the victory lounge. Entertaining an entire army is something that SRL party coordinators rarely have to deal with, but they've organized quite a victory bash, including brining back that awesome male dance team they had at your last victory party to keep the ladies in your army happy. So while the male members of Smoke's army enjoy their physics lesson, the girls will get to watch Rowdy Ray's Raucus and Randy Roundup dance troop perform in the SRL auditorium. Congratulations. Navigating through the backwash from the volley of photon farts fired at Mad MaxSiren's ship, the USS Ohio emerges from the maelstrom none the worse for wear. Captain OD now sets his sights on the USS Starrider, an advanced Federation vessel cruising at high warp only one parsec in front of the USS Ohio. Captain OD orders the weapons officer to prepare another little gaseous anomaly for the Starrider. Makin' Bacon Cakin keeps flirting with the century mark in The Race to Number 50, smacking around 92 wu's during yesterday's action. Up another spot to number 53, cakin can smell victory on the horizon. Keeping their pace strong and steady, Team Tofter Volder are just a tad over 700 wu's from their goal of 12,000 wu's. With more than a month left on the clock, that 12th K-Key will be theirs long before the clock runs out on their challenge.
With 80 percent of their journey behind them, Admiral Engineer and the Federation had best keep a watchful eye on aft sensors. Remaining with striking distance, Team Smokeball is beginning to apply a little pressure to Admiral Engineer's aft shields. Meanwhile, the battle for third heats up between Captain Kewlie and the Pazmanian Devil Pazoo while Crazee sneaks to within 9 wus of Lanner Manner at the rear of the pack. Swanny surges into the lead in 2001: A WU Oddesy, passing both SoulAssassin and conjur half way through the first turn. Leading for the first two days of the race, SoulAssassin now finds himself tending to third place. The Sinister Oscillator has weaved and bobbed his way through the pack in the 2000 WU Packet Blaster and is now only 44 wu's from taking over the lead.
