One day after Karsten brought his own special brand of Karnage into the SRL by taking the Race to 9000 in thrilling fashion, his nemesis and arch-rival LiveLongAndProsper takes the checkered flag to earn second place honors (which are almost as good as first place honors). LL&P used consistency and relentlessness in his dogged pursuit of the 9K milestone. Beginning the race dead last, LL&P made his way through the pack, dodging and weaving, bobbing and billing, passing one racer, then another until the aft section of Karsten's rig was the only obstacle left in his way. But a strong finish from Karsten keep first place honors just slightly out of reach of LL&P's fingers, which are frozen in a perpetual Vulcan salute during races. Irregardless, LL&P earns his 9th K-Key and some froth and slosh in the 9K lounge with a side of Oreo's and some sourdough pretzel nuggets. (Fat free, of course.) Congratulations, LiveLongAndProsper! We've transported in some Vulcan race babes for your party, but I gotta tell you, so far they have been absolutely no fun at all!
A new race begins this morning, pitting four grizzled racing veterans against a brand spanking new rookie to the SRL. After spending considerable time in the Lonely Racer's bracket, ReaganCRW leaps back into active racing pitting his considerable talents against the likes of the race's founder Mighty Micron, TA-Seti's stats master Sizzlin' Soni, and the SInister Oscillator, who voluntarily takes a 500 wu penalty to level the playing field with his competitors. Also joining this star-studded lineup is the rookie sensation known as Jumpin' Jatwell who has brought quite a following to the track for his major league SRL debut. As the starter's pistol fires, race officials have thrown up a yellow flag as the racers will begin the race under the caution flag. It looks as though ReaganCRW may have missed the cutoff dump time and will require a slight adjustment to his running total. Sizzlin' Soni settles into the number two slot with 54 alongside Jumpin' Jatwell as Soni begins tossing empty wu cartridges at Jatwell's wheels in an attempt to distract the rookie. Mighty Micron eases into the four hole at 51 and EvilWobbles brings up the rear, a position he will occupy for quite a while until he has made up the pre-race stagger. Good luck, gentlemen[/b]!
