The wu bell is a-ring-ring-a-dinging down on Whack-A-Packet Way because the 500 WU Whack-A-Packet Rally's second champion is about to be crowned. Shim Shim Shimmishim crosses the finish line, his munching machinery howling like a banshee and trailing packet particles and wu dust in his wake. What a crowd favorite this rookie racer has become. Even with only one race under his belt, fans have already formed a fan club, complete with a secret handshake, fancy password, and official dance. Pulling his rumbling rig up to the awards stand, the fans rock and roar as Shimmie emerges from the cockpit of his racer and waves to the fans. As his pit crew tows the three ton hunk of crunching chaos back to Shimmie's garage to prep it for the next race, several over zealous fans climb over the retaining wall and sprint towards the blushing racer hoping to get an autograph and maybe a piece of his clothing or one of his ears to keep as a souvenir. Boy, they sure do love their SETI racers 'round these parts! Congratulations, Shimmishim! There's :beer:, babes, and bandages waiting for you in the victory lounge.
Yellin' Yield, perhaps sensing the approaching Funky Bus, shifts his rig into race gear in Beat the Race Coordinator (Over the Head) to 3000. Laying down the busted and broken remnants of 64 workunits on the track to his rear, Yield had best maintain this torrid pace because it looks like Mister Funky is not going to give up. Also making a charge from the three hole is Anything But Plain Wayne who lays 65 pounded packets to rest. Minnie Minendo is tearing up the track in the 2000 WU Bump and Dump, hitting forty for the day and stretching his lead to 143 over Kewlie. After a slow start, SoulAssassin is stoking the furnace, clearing the thirty wu barrier for the second day in a row. Down in the 1500 WU Dynamite Dumper, Whackin' Wiz stands on the accelerator and powers his way to the front of the pack by two over Nasty Neovan who looks like he may have thrown a rod as his rig loses speed and the lead in a hurry.
A stunned and breathless crowd rises to its feet at PowderPuff Park as Awesome Adul begins to ramp up his crunching turbos and flexes his sculpted dump muscles to the tune of 67 workunits. The massive maneuver moves the heavy hitter to within 25 wu's of a startled BigFatCow, and we all know what happens when you startle a cow. That stuff's hard to get off your shoes. Meanwhile everyone else in the bracket earns a smilie for their stellar efforts for the day, each racer meeting or exceeding the pre-race qualification tally. It looks like the Aquatic White Bird is intent on putting the 4000 WU Whacker Packer Roundup away in a hurry. Soaring above the rest of the pack, at or near 100 wu's each and every day, Swell Swanny honks up a storm, happily flapping away as his lead exceeds the 200 wu mark over Lean Lane. To their rear, Zappin Zod appears to be approaching his old high-octane dumping self as his daily tally approaches the 80 mark and Makin' Bacon Cakin continues to work on tuning up his powerplant in the trailing position.
