Despite the stats only representing a bit less than 20 hrs, Gertrude still had some rounds to make overnight.
Catching up on the race winners from yesterday, we welcome to the 10K lounge John Wulff who despite not visiting the forums often, or ever, still gets a round of Mt. Dews and a tray of Oreos for his trouble. And he probably gets to party in the cleanest 10K lounge since the opening of 10K Party Central, since we had to give the place a thorough hosing and steam cleaning after Rowdy Ray's wild four day bash. Unfortunately for Big Bad Wulff, the babes who staff the 10K lounge are completely worn out from their four day marathon physics party with the Rayster so you'll have to settle for me as the entertainment. Don't worry, 'cause I brought my dancin' shoes and my sock puppets so be prepared to be throroughly entertained. Congratulations, John Wulff and welcome to the 10K club.
Now this is what the babes really like! Zippity Zim Hosein, a hottub virgin, has crossed the 1K threshold and added a fourth digit to his on-going tally and becomes the second racer to take the checkered flag in Bob The Wizard's Evil 1K Zip Zim Dash. Following TheEvil1 across the finish line in this race between the rookie trio, Zippin' Zim heads straight for the 1K lounge entrance, not even bothering to stop at the awards stand to pick up his certificate. We always get a chuckle watching the lounge newbies as they excitedly stand at the door waiting for one of our fine scantily clad babes to open up the door and offer the newcomer their cookies. Mmmmmmmm! Regular and double-stuffed, ready and waiting for the new winner to dive into the bountiful feast. And if trays and trays of Oreos aren't enough, there's a fridge full of Mt. Dew and other adult beverages waiting for Zippin' Zim to sample. And of course, the hottub where Zim gets to soak his tired and sore dump muscles while the babes lecture the lounge newbie about some of the hottest topics in theoretical physics today. Trailing a cloud of wu dust, cat-5 cable, RJ-45 connectors, and a couple of Cisco 10720 routers with the Resilient Packet Ring techonolgy in his wake, networkman steams across the finish line in Networkman and Swanny's 1K Sprint. This marks NWM's seventh career SRL victory and earns his mug some time on the SRL Wall of Fame and his butt some time in the SRL hottub. Finding himself trailing Swinggin' Swanny coming out of the first turn, networkman turned on the power, steadily gaining on the Aquatic White Bird down the first back stretch until he made his power move heading into turn two, overtaking Swanny for good at that point to the delight of the thousands of networkman fans in the stands. Acknowledging his following with a wave and a mini-dump, networkman hurriedly heads towards the door of the victory lounge as Swanny, none too happy about finishing second, starts a bombing run in NWM's direction, just missing networkman with his birdie payload as NWM dives through the lounge door. Congratulations, networkman!
