The Winners On Parade continue this morning as four more Teamers reach their respective milestones and placement goals.
Starting at the top, Makin' Bacon Cakin, with a powerful thrust, hurtles his rigs across the finish line in The Race to Number 50, beating Cunning Conjur to the checkered flag by 7 placement points. An extremely strong effort as of late from the Bacon Man allowed him to click off two placement points within the last two weeks and earn himself some face time on the SRL Wall of Fame. Reaching the top 50 on the team ranked fifth in the world is quite an accomplishment, one worthy of a few brewskies and some chocolate-peanut butter Oreos in the victory lounge. So change out of those hot, dusty racing digs and prepare yourself for one nice long soak in the hottub and some stimulating intellectual conversation with the babes. Congratulations, cakin, and welcome to the top 50!
Morphing from four digits to five has always been one of the most coveted achievements on the Seti tour. That milestone earns a teamer their last Berkeley certificate, an extra digit, a gold 10K key with diamond studs arranged in the shape of their position on the team when they cross the 10K mark, and a wild and intellectual party with the race babes in the 10K lounge. This morning, the TWTA Bus becomes the 96th AnandTecher to cross the Holy Grail of milestone markers and party hearty in the lounge. Making it a point to add the fifth digit to their tally before the project ends, former bus drivers who wore the TWTA colors at some point in time during the bus's stellar career hopped aboard in an effort to give the bus one more shot at glory, and glory is what they've earned. As the TWTA crunchers pile off the bus one by one in the winner's circle, the crowd rises to it's feet in a raucus standing ovation for what has become one of the enduring symbols of Team AnandTech Seti. Congratulations to all members of the Team Within Team AnandTech!
The 3000 WU Smoosh officially comes to a close this morning and what a thrilling conclusion it is. With everyone on their feet at Smoosh Park stomping and howling, the final two racers beat feet for the finish line, jostling for position, avoiding the tacks, empty wu cartridges and cane husks left on the track by previous racers. In a cloud of wu dust and packet powder, the team of Great Danes Toft / Vold - DK and Mighty Micron both cross the finish line and await the judges' ruling on who crossed first. After analyzing the photographs taken by the twenty one individual cameras positioned at the finish line, SRL officials make the announcement that the Great Danes have edged out Mighty Micron for the right to enter the victory lounge first. Once the other racers had cleared the track, this pair gave the crowd quite a show, battling each other incessantly, tossing verbal jabs at each other and making funny faces in an attempt to disrupt their competitor's concentration. But, there are no losers in the SRL and both Team Toft / Vold and Mighty Micron get to party in the lounge with the babes. Excuse me... <yelling> Hey, Ray... Ray! You've been in the hottub long enough. It's somebody else's turn! </yelling> Congratulations, Toft / Vold - DK and Mighty Micron!
