This morning marks the start of another contest of crunching carnage, a pugnacious party of prodigious packet pounding perfection, a gathering of gigantic wu whacking might christened Last One to 2000 is a WU Wimp! pitting pounders who live in the thirty wu per day stratosphere. As the start's pistol fires, comeback racer Domination, who last graced our tracks before the American midwest became the Arctic Circle south, gooses his munching machinery and leaps out to the early lead heading into the first turn. Drafting right on the Dominator's tail like the veteran racing pro he is, Magnificent Marrkks settles into second place, only two wu's to the aft-end of Dom's aft-end. Meanwhile, Marrkks' contigent of rowdy race ruffians in the stands is still struggling to devise a chant for their vowel-challenged hero. Major Tom Tarca, his rig howling with raw racing power, struggles a bit with the lateral adjustment knob on his wu wing and has to be content to occupy third place as he approaches the first turn. And bringing up the rear on day one is Excellent Electrode, whose normally high octane fleet seems to be missing on a cylinder in the early going.
Jettisoning everything that's isn't tied down in an attempt to lighten the load aboard the psychadelic Funky Bus, Captain MoFunk and Rowdy Ray toss out the TV, the microwave, and the porta-john but still find themselves losing ground in the 3000 WU Smoosh. Now stuck in the third position, Funky and Rowdy are becoming concerned with the quickly approaching Mighty Micron who is making a strong challenge from the fourth spot. In the Plain Old Race to Crunch 1500 WU's, Nasty Neovan has throttled the engines to 110% and passed LyNx01 to take over the lead with 234 wu's to go to the finish line. Having spent most of the race choking on the fumes of his competitors, Neo take a great breath of the fresh air of first place and pumps his fist out the window of his rig to the delight of his fans in the stands.
Captain Clams is cruisin' and bruisin' in the Seti Stud-Studded Stud Stomp to 4000. Having expressed doubts that he could keep his fleet on a parallel course with Poundin' Pazoo prior to the start of the race, the Shuxster is showing the SRL racing world that he is not a challenger to be taken lightly. Laying waste to 124 wu's overnight, the USS Shux cruises only 55 wu's to Pazoo's rear. After two days of racing in the Master Plaster WU Blaster to 1000, DAPUNISHER appears to have the fleet in cruise control. But Awesome Adul keeps the pressure on from the two hole, proving that the fires of competition burn brightly in his heart. Why Yes YS, Evaderman, and Powerful Pyxis are engaged in a raging battle for second place in the 1000 WU Packet Pounder Derby. Jostling for position heading out of turn one, Evadman, frustrated by his competitor's staunch resistance, begins making hideous faces at his race mates in an attempt to disrupt their concentration.
