SETI question

Hello all,

i've *known* about SETI for a while now but can you guys clue me in on what is going on in the SETI world?

For example what is Seti1? I know it is ending soon but what is it.

When will the next SETI project begin?

i'm sure there is more data being collected on a weekly basis than can be crunched...so is Seti2 and beyond just a continum of data crunching?

will the stats be reset?

i've just been curious. thanks!

SETI1 is the project that's running now.

When will the next SETI project begin?
Hard to tell, they're still testing the BOINC platform & AstroPulse. AstroPulse, from what i have gathered, will be a (relatively)short project re-analyzing the exsisting data from the SETI program. SETI 2 is the same as SETI, except the data will be gathered from the southern hemisphere.

See above.

Yes. Once using the BOINC platform, a work unit will be called a "cobblestone". It's a system using a reference computer to compare against the users computer.

once more thanks for the info..

the cobblestone method is much like the method that the UD Cancer research project works by
