I've gotta pick one or the other for my main machine, right now i've got both running at once and the times are a little... mediocore. My P3 800 is generating more eccp points (since its only running eccp) than my 1.4ghz athlon (since its running both)! this is a tough choice... :(

It's really more of a matter of personal preference... Both teams would love to have your output, but it's up to you :)

seti!

just kidding. I don't know much about eccp, but I know athlons are great for seti. Personally I would just participate in whatever project interest you the most.

Actually Athlons have been historically low scorers in SETI but from T-bird to Palamino they rule. However, I believe that they rule in ECCP as well. Go with which ever you feel more comfortable with and you think you can assimilate more for. Or how about putting SETI on one machine and ECCP on the other. Since one is faster you could rotate them every month or so, so that your production is more evenly distributed.

My Choise would be SETI But that's just my opinion

With those two machines you would do something like 6 - 7 Wu's a day :)

When i started Seti in March i put out 4,5 - 5 a Day, and i was climbing in rank pretty quick ;)

Just my 2 cents worth ;)

Both teams are in need of production as we are vying for top spots in both projects.... Personally, I had the same dilemma and decided to run each for 2 weeks each month or so... i was switching everyday, but that got hasslesome. Anyway, another thing to consider is numbers... in SETI, you produce work units that take hours to complete one. In ECCp-109 you compute DPs which an athlon like yours can do about 120 in a day... if you like looking at larger numbers under your belt, then ECCp-109 is the way to go. Both teams have active discussions and love to pile praise on you for your accomplishments like milestones etc.... so theres a lot to consider... good luck in your decision!
