Anyone OCing a 1.6a yet? Check out this thread:

1.6a OC Thread

I'm going to build one of these SOON. Really want to know what it's going to do to the seti wu's. I'm hoping for sub-3 hour times. :) I've got 512MB of Corsair xms2700 DDR to go with it, hoping to surpass his 2.56 GHz OC. :D

I can't wait to see what that baby will do. I've always been curious about the northwoods.

I've heard that some of those chips will hit 2.4GHz with top notch air cooling and go as high as 2.6GHz with water cooling. However, I've also heard that no matter what you do some won't top 2.4GHz.

It seems that early Northwoods are pretty eratic in their OCin' capabilities. This is to be expected, as the new .13 um process will take time to perfect.

I wouldn't say 2.5+Ghz is guaranteed, but with good cooling, at least it's probable. I'd say over 2.6Ghz will be a stretch. 2.4Ghz should be pretty easy from what I've been hearing.

Thats absolutely amazing, why even an overclock to 2.0 Ghz is an increase of 400mhz - 25% the original closk speed. :Q

I'll jump all over a 1.6a @ 2.4Ghz. I can't wait to get my taxes done/back! :)

My info I got from Overclockers.com for those that are wondering. Those are just some earlly findings though and results may vary and will deffinetly get better with time. I'm with Robor a 1.6@2.4 is darn good.
