Seti on Multiprocessors?

Hey guys.....how do I setup Seti that I can take full advantage of my multiprocessor boxes?

The Seti client is not multithreaded so you run two instances. Setidriver does it automaticly. I just fire up two instances of setidriver set to one process, no affinity. You could set it to two processes and run one instance of setidriver also. It is very easy to do with Setidriver.

After a quick search, this is the program I found. Is this what you meant??

Seti Driver 1.6.3.6 or is there a newer version from someone else?

Actually....I have a group of dualies, and one quad box.

I personally have an Asus P2B-D with 2x450, an Asus A7M266-D with 2x1800+, an ECS DV6AA with 2xPIII 1000, and a Tyan Thunder K7 with 2x1200MP......and at work I have a quad 900 Xeon that is my "toybox".....scarey isn't it.

I have a group: IHATEHUMANS....can I join that group onto Anand's? I just started this group a little over a month ago, and we have ~700 units.

Wow! ,nice fleet!😀 ,you could certainly tear up tha ranks in TA 😉

As for joining a group ,if you mean a Team then AFAIK that can't be done ,however if you mean you are all crunching under 1 account(1 email add) then that can certainly join 🙂.

(You could always join TeAm AnandTech as a mini-team...i.e....everyone use the same SETI ID...and to keep track of stats....set up a SETIQueue to route all of them to Berkeley 🙂 )

Here is an idea for you.

Each of your current teammates could individually join Team AnandTech.

Join Team AnandTech SETI

Have each of them use the following naming scheme:

IHATEHUMANS - Rilescat
IHATEHUMANS - laxangel
IHATEHUMANS - HunterKiller
IHATEHUMANS - CodMan47

Each would have their name listed in the Team AnandTech SETI Roster but each would be recognized as belonging to the IHATEHUMANS Seti Team

The other suggestion that has been made is also another good way to handle this.

You run SetiQueue and have each of your teammates reinstall SETI using your email address and use your SetiQueue to upload/download their WUs. Their individual stats would then be seen on your SetiQ site.

Look at my mini-team for instance.
