I just got this email from some loser.:disgust:

It was polish team. Now it is not. Now we have members from 45 different
countries.

During last year our team become almost 25 times bigger.
Now we have more than 500 members,
and we are at about 70 position of all Seti teams in the world.

I want to invite you, would you like to join us?
Let's build big, good, international team.

I want you to know, we don't process all that WU just to take good places in
rankings. We all want to find if there is any Extraterrestian Inteligence
out there or not.

Of course being in a team like this, rankings, stats give lot of fun to many
fo us.
There is nothing better than serious work that gives pleasure. So join us
and become a member of one of the best teams on our planet.

I know it is unusual proposition.

Hello loser.

My name is Matt. I am a member of the SETI Team for AnandTech.
It is a big, international team, with members from many different countries.

During the last year, we moved up to the top 5 in the World Standings, and
became over 2500 members strong.

I want you to know, we don't process all these Work Units just to have a good
place in the rankings. We all want to find out if there is any Extraterrestrial
Intelligence out there or not. We also want to participate in all the other scientific
experiments and findings that this project has also discovered.

Of course being in a team like this, the high rankings, constant daily battle to gain
places, and prevent others from gaining on us. Also there are many races, and
statistics that many of our fine members provide us with, in order to bring fun,
enjoyment, and a little friendly rivalry to the Team.

We have done all this by not email spamming members of other Teams into joining us,
we have the number of members that we do because we have a great bunch of people,
great stats, team mates that would, and have, literally saved the lives of our team mates.

I know this is an unusual proposition.
If this email is an annoyance, please note that all your spam is just as annoying to those
recieve your badly worded email.
If you haven't deleted this yet, please think about how annoying it was to recieve and
have to read this.

Yes! In fact, I think it should be standard TA procedure to respond to e-mails like this in the way Confused did... We probably won't get any new members out of it, but if we do, hey, that's great, if not, well, if nothing else, it allows us to brag about our accomplishments ;)

This is interesting. I didn't get the Email. But, in the posts on the seti site that Thunder replied too he stated...

And the Email is the same? Personaly I believe this is spam... Send the Email off Confused.... And let us see if the Email is a valid Email and let us see what has to say for himself...

I did not get the email sent to me.


I just saw the one that Baldy18 had got sent, reworded it a little, corrected the speeling (i know i spelt that wrong ;)) and grammar mistakes, and suggested he send that back :)

Feel free to use it if you do recieve the email :)

I was able to vaguely find "contact details" on that loser's mail host, and sent them an email (in English) to info@mediaone.pl saying that one of their customers has been using the email account for SPAM messages.

I will see if there is any reply
