SETI: Notice to users of the "Crazee Smoke SetiQueue"

NOTICE USERS OF THE CRAZEE SMOKE SETIQUEUE!

I have been notified by DNS2GO that their service will be "intermittently unavailable" between the hours of 5 - 7 PM (EST) on Monday, January 26th, 2004, in order to accommodate re-location of the supporting computing infrastructure.

Since it has been a great while since I have done a protective "backup" I will shut down the Q during this period and use this as an opportunity to do so.

Since we are in the maintenance time frame I am going to shut down the SetiQueue in the next few minutes.

After doing a complete backup, I will restart the SetiQueue. If you have trouble connecting ... try again after 7 PM EST.

While my DNS2Go is offline also, I am also doing a backup of the TeAmAnandTech.d2g.com queue 1.6GB, should be done in about 15 mins

Do you think we need the SetiQueue thread stuck at the top of the DC Forum?

It is mentioned in every SETI WELCOME THREAD with the link to Soni's SetiQueue Web Page.

What do you think?

The sticky (in all iterations of it) has provided a great resource. However...with Poof seemingly gone AWOL (where are you, Tina, I really hope you're OK ) and there not really being a change in the situations of queues all that much...and the addition of Soni's (almost) real-time status page, and the link to that page being provided in all welcome threads...i think it might be time for it to pass away into the midst.

Now all I want is for Poof to come post here saying something like "Garry you big nef, you can't let my thread die, I need to take you behind those bushes and into my hot tub and teach you a lesson for even considering such a thing"
