SETI: newbie has 2 *simple* problems

i just followed the walkthrough to get this set up on my system. 2 things i have encountered and i'm not sure if it is a problem or not.

Using windows XP home sp1

i could find "Conagent.exe", even upon searching, is that a problem?

Create a shortcut to the SetiDriver.exe file. Change the shortcut's properties to "Run Minimized". Place this shortcut in the StartUp folder of your Start menu.

i set a shortcut to my desk top. when i right click on it, i can't find this option :Q

also, i'm trying to set up this SetiQueue thing, but i am unsure what to put for host and port? anyone guide me in the rite direction?

lol ,sorry, another thing, how long will it take for my password to get emailed? i requested it already, was hopin it'd be on it's way, cause at the moment my numbers aren't goin towards anandtech 🙁

Don't worry about Conagent that is only really necessary in Win 95 and some versions of Win 98.

As for the shortcut, right click on it. Click the tab that says shortcut. You should see the following options listed:

Target:
Start In:
Shortcut Key:
Run:
Comment:

In the pulldown next to the run option, select Minimized and then click the ok button 🙂

Should be near instant ,check your junk mail boxes incase its been filtered!

Re SETIQ ,do you mean pointing SETIDriver to use a Q?
If so that depends which Q you'd want to use ,check out the 'Public SETIQ' thread at the top of this forum🙂

how do, the setiq thing is a buffer for work units. You don't necessarily have to run one of your own, the team has loads and i'm sure if you ask one of the members they'll let you use it ! The purpose of the q is to provide a store of work units so that if the servers go down at berkely then you don't have to wait for them to come back up b4 you can get on with ur next wu 🙂 HTH !
