My boss wants to know if there are currently any security issues for SETI service install before we install them on all the computers in the computer on campus.


Anyone know?

 
The only "possible" issue is with using the 3.03 CLI. This exploit will require someone to get to the computer it is running on, change something, and get it to talk to another server, other than Berkeley.

This is "fixed" by 3.08


I say fixed in "" because the possibilty of this exploit being able to be used is slim to none 🙂 But somehow, in fixing this one bug, 3.08 has become about 10-15% slower for normal and high angle range work units, but also somehow faster for low angle units. Even though Berekely said that they didn't change anything else! Draw your own conclusions! 😉
