Seti@Home Optimized Apps Site

Last year during gauntlet keeleysam recommended some optimized apps for seti to help us to crunch more work units. These are perfectly legal, and are in fact based upon Eric Korpela's source tarball. Most of us at the time on c2d's seemed to get a 20-25% increase in performance, I personally went from 1500 ppd or so to well over 2000 ppd on my e6750 with them. As our team has grown it seems highly likely that many of us aren't maximizing our cpus because we aren't using these optimized apps, so I'm posting a new link here (the site recently moved). Anyway, if you're running seti you should use these. They help a minimum of 20-25% on a c2d system and probably 10-15% on an amd x2 or older system. I don't have any experience with older p4's or phenom's, so any of you with those please feel free to let us know what sort of change you've seen. Here's the link:

Thanks for the link! 😀

The optimizations certainly help all those processors which have SSE2 or SSE3 ...

yes, well, peter, most of us don't have a hybrid DC farm/heater in our basement that is full of dx66's and, um, pentium 100's ...😉

I just wanted to get this thread back to the top... for a month now I was thinking I had a bad Q6600... I was only doing 2200ppd for awhile on one of my q6600, then I realized a week ago that I didn't have the optimized app.... now with the optimized app, i'm getting an additional 1000ppd.... its well worth it to have the app.

I ran 2200ppd on my e6750@3.4. I'm almost up to 5000ppd on my Q9450@3.6 with this optimized app...it really works! I just hope that they come up with an sse4 optimized app some time soon!

sam, isn't the ssse3 code from crunch3r (v2.4) the same as the kwsn v 2.4 sse3 for core2 from lunatics.at (now lunatics.kwsn.net)? iirc they both show up as the same prgram in task mgr.

I ran a barton core xp 2500+ in my mom's computer until about a month ago. I used the v2.4 optimized app on that one. The v8.0 science app unfortunately doesn't work with it yet, though they did say that they're working on compatibility with older cpus. here's the link:

this is assuming you're using a 32 bit windows app. d/l the 2.4V windows x32 sse intel & amd (+gfx if you want the graphics). if you're NOT using 32 bit windows then find your os type on the far left of the page.
