My quad's back to crunching at full steam (3GHz), seems there was no h/w fault afterall, memtest giving a false negative (possibly because it didn't identify the chipset). And just a corruptd windows, though I still don't know why that happened.........

I'm still going to buy a P45 mbrd though for better overclocking & 45nm quad support 😀.
