Due to science-database being down, there will be no new work before science-database up again. It's highly recommended to have one or more "backup"-projects, so if you don't have any, now is a good time to add one or more, since no-one knows how long before science-database is working again...

AFAIK they've already re-split any WUs left-out initially, or for various server-problems and so on was missing validated result.

A selection of the most "interesting" tapes is currently being re-distributed, so the more sensitive Seti_Enhanced can see if finds more info. AFAIK these tapes will likely be finished within a month or so, and while possible, it's AFAIK no plans to re-crunch all tapes with Seti_Enhanced...

So, hopefully, by the time the old tapes is depleted, the multi-beam-wu's is ready for distribution...


But anyway, till science-database is up and running again, there will be no more work.

No wu's at all...

To split new wu's, the Science-database must be running. Also, result/wu is decided at time of splitting. Meaning, even SETI@home tries to keep 500k of work ready to be sent-out, with science-database down this cached work will after a few hours be depleted, and no-one will get any more work until science-database is up and running again...

Well, not completely true, due to errors, failed validations and a minority of results not being returned by deadline, there is a small trickle of new work being generated by BOINC. But, this is only a small fraction of what is needed...


In "classic", it wouldn't matter if the science-database was down, since "classic" would just continue re-issuing the cached wu's until some new was split, meaning users would continue downloading work. But, this just meant there was instances there the same wu was crunched 50+ times, while only 2 or 3 was needed for the science...
