i figured out how to install it. what times should i be getting?

update: it's doing about 1% every 15minutes. that seems kinda slow. are there any priorities that i can change?

Just about all you can do with the client is adjust the nice level.

So you would run it...

./setiathome -nice nn -proxy xxxxxxxx

where nn is a number from 01 to 19

The higher the number the lower the priority, default is 10.

Be careful running it between nice 01 and nice 09 though, you don't want to upset anyone.

If you have ownership of the machine you could look at tuning it eg shutting down unwanted processes etc..

cheers,

Col.

unfortunately i'm not sure what kind of processor it has.

i was running it at -nice 9, but i just switched it to -nice 5.

i don't have ownership of the computer, it's at school. but i can login when i'm at school and i can telnet from home and crunch some packets. i think i can run multiple instances as well - at night when there aren't a lot of users.
