I just put Motherboard Monitor on my laptop, a Toshiba p3 1gig. Idle cpu Temp reads 41 C, witch seems ok to me with the hot weather here in the east, and 63 C with seti on.

Is this hot for an intel cpu.

Would a better Fan and artic silver be worth putting in.
 
Yes.

I switched from a generic HSF to a cheap Coolermaster fan and scraped off the gunk from the heatsink and used Arctic Silver and the temps on my 1.0GHz Athlon dropped from 63 to 54...I'll take that.

Can you fit a bigger HSF in a laptop!?

Btw 63c is a bit hot for a PIII, but its still within its saftey limts ,especially for a laptop
