They have - since some weeks - a three day long down period which usually starts tuesday and ends often friday, some times thursday.

From Seti@Home top page:
Weekly Outage and Initial Catch Up
Every Tuesday morning (Pacific time) we begin a 3 day data distribution outage to focus on science processing and development plus any needed systems maintenance. The upload/download servers will be offline during this time. The web site (including the forums) will only be offline during the database maintenance and backup portion of the outage. On Friday, you may experience connectivity issues as the servers catch up with demand. 25 Sep 2010 20:53:28 UTC

Right, I knew that and always expect that it will be down Tuesday - Friday.

This past week I don't think it was up much between Saturday - Tuesday.

My machines are running out of seti work, they are all set for 10 days.

They haven't been receiving results in a while, basically since last Tuesday morning. They had the usual Tuesday - Friday downtime then on Friday came up with this:

Our upload (results) storage area is full.
The projects are down until we resolve this in the next few days.

This has gone on into the next Tuesday - Friday outage. So it's likely going to be at least (a total of) 10 days before results are accepted from the time they started the previous outage on 9/21.

Someone refresh my memory on a good BOINC alternative to seti for the moment?
Do I simply go into BOINC and attach to another project? It's been a while...

I've already got an account on Rosetta so I'm crunching that again.
As machines run out of seti work they will pick up on Rosetta.

I'm going to be switching my 2nd rig to Orbit@home soon :).

Btw, long SETI outage!, not as bad though as when their main pipe was cut! 1month was it?

this time the ac went out in the server closet, it was down for most of a week then had the regular weekly outage.

I just connected (briefly) enough to update everything and d/l my wu's but it wouldn't let me get any new wu's yet.

@wiz: I've been running aqua whenever I run out of seti, it gives a ton of ppd. Milky way probably gets the most ppd of any project, but I've never been able to set it to run 0 %. for some reason any time I have milky setup, even if it is only supposed to run 1% of the time or 1/1000 % for that matter it seems to take over the entire system.

Got orbit running on most along with rosetta, plenty of work to do even if seti dies for a while - that's the plan anyway!

they started the downtime early this week, hopefully they'll be completely caught up by friday.
