Seti Client Priority

Has anyone noticed a big difference when moving this setting around? If so any stats you could share would be appreciated.

I am running a Athlon XP 1800+ with 512 ddr if this helps anyone give me some stats i have always had it set to low but wondering if my daily WU completion would increase significantly?

No it shouldnt change anything drastically.

If you notice, even on the 'Low' setting, SETI has 100% of CPU time almost all the time. Changing this setting might have a 5 min difference in WU time but on 'Normal' or 'High' I would expect that any system be unusable really.

LinuxIdiot, The only difference you will notice is the usability of your system. I keep mine set to low and it has little, or no, effect on WU time even on my work machine when I'm using it 8+ hours per day.

heh i did notice that changing it to high caused probs hehe bah i was hoping setting it to normal might increase by an hour or two but 5 min is so insignificant to me i am not even gonna worry bout it

thanks 😀

If you want to experiment then you can always set priority higher when you are not at your PC. I sometimes do at my work PC just for the hell of it as theres at least 14 hours until when I need to use it again (the next morning). 🙂
