Seti CLI icon - Anyway to make it disappear?

Hey,

I have the Seti CLI running. Sometimes I fix my friends computers and usually (unless it took a ridiculous amount of my time) all I ask is that they run Seti under my account if they're not already. Usually they begrudgingly agree while chiding me for looking for "little green men". They run it for a while, but eventually they just shut it off because they say the lower right hand icon bothers them. Honestly, I guess it just freaks them out, but as long as I'm being totally honest with them, and telling them that it's running and how to shut it off, I see no problem is removing this constant reminder that they're searching for aliens (instead of just sitting there doing nothing).

Is there anyway to make the Seti icon in the bottom right hand corner disappear?

I totally didn't know about that. I think I'm going to go ahead and throw this on my fleet in the morning...just makes it that much more seemless. 🙂

SetiHide works pretty good in hideing things but it's a little
tricky to set up. It also has no auto start for win xp so be
sure to place it in the startup folder. And you can Really hide it
by renameing folders so "SetiHide" dosn't show up in Task Manager 🙂

Just be sure to make yourself a little Cheat Sheet of the steps or you may
forget something when loading it on a friends computer.

What he said. :Q

I've solved this problem by naming the SetiHide Folder, "SH", and then I place it in the WINDOWS directory. 🙂
I then put a shortcut in the startup folder named, "SystemDrivers". 😀

It won't be invisible to the savvy user but to the casual user it is safely tucked away. 😉
