I would like to introduce our newest member:

homeless ---- Rank 2189 New ---- 95 Wus :sun: ---- Mentor: MoFunk
Here is your Personal Stats Machine

*If you are an AOL subscriber (along with a few other ISPs) you may not be able to post in the AnandTech Forums. If that is your situation you can certainly visit your TeAm Mates on our offsite forum. http://www.deception.net/invision/ 😉 🙂

Your mentor may not be able to contact you if you don?t have PMs enabled (Allow Private Messages) ? you can do that in your profile.

We hope you drop by often and say hello.

WARNING:

SETI WUs contain hidden rewards, and prolonged crunching can be addictive. TeAm members should guard against excessive computer building, parts hording, and stat checking. <Quote of recent new member, Pokey> 😛 😀

SETI-CLASSIC

How to run SETI-Classic and Join TeAm AnandTech

How To configure your SetiDriver for SETI-CLASSIC to use a TeAm SetiQueue.

Once you have your SetiDriver setup and working properly it is recommended that you use one of the TeAm's SetiQueues.

This will insure you have WUs to crunch when the Seti Server is down.

Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to helping out

P.S. I am frischauf on here but I go by homeless most everywhere else

Welcome to the TeAm! You won't have to be "homeless" any more! 😀

Are you using the screen saver (graphical) version, or the command line client version?

The graphical version is much slower, but you can easily tell that it is working by watching the screen saver.

When running by itself, the command line client can be set to -quiet mode where it doesn't tell you anything at all, or -verbose mode where it frequently updates its status to the command prompt window. I highly recommend using the command line client and a management program such as SETI Spy or SETI Driver. Both of these programs will hide the client so that it is not sitting on the Windows Task Bar, and will also update the progress of your work. SETI Driver will cache extra work units for you in case of loss of connectivity to the servers at Berkeley, and SETI Spy provides a few extra interesting stats about your system and your SETI account.

graphic version but my screensaver is off so it just runs in the back ground. i have the regular green seti icon in the icon tray and when i run the seti driver.exe, my icon is green too. is it supposed to be blue?

i was reading about Boinc...is that in the same lines as Seti Spy or Seti Driver?

Welcome to the TeAm homeless/frischauf 🙂

BOINC is just a platform for S@H2 & other DC projects.
SETI Spy is a monitoring tool for SETI Classic.
SETI Driver is a control & caching program for the S@H Classic CLI.

my laptop runs all day so i am doing what i can. when i get back to work on thursday, i am going to set it up there too.
