CGIs aren't supposed to be disabled. I'll check our configuration.
Unfortunately our web server machine has reached its capacity and Apache sends bogus error messages when it's overloaded. We're in the process of splitting the web server between 6 CPUs (as opposed to the current 2).
I grabbed this from the OcUk forum ,its a thread about the new 100 meg pipe coming ,but it also mentioned the recent CGI stats going down.
With respect to the outage at the end of last week, to be truthful we are not completely sure ourselves. We did lose a router within the SSL building, however there had been a power loss a few minutes prior to this. The router has a UPS and it appeared to work fine, until power was restored, then something went wrong which caused a complete failure of the router and all beyond it lost connection to the outside world. The Network Guys here are still scratching their heads over that, but it was most annoying. It had been down a couple of hours before any of us actually noticed, we were all in the office having a meeting about Setiathome II.
