downloaded it yesterday, and have since turned in two wu's that clocked in at around eight hours. my usual time is around 11 or 11.5 so I'm stoked! tell me one thing though. since it's a new s@h in the s@h directory, I need to repatch setiq don't I?

yeah, i know what you mean. my times dropped from 5-6h to 3-4h.

unfortunately, it looks like the final seti v3.0 will be based on v2.74 which is slower than v2.70.

Yes, 2.70 is sweet. I downloaded 2.74 and did a couple of WU's on one PC. They went fast so I upgraded most of my clients. Turns out I must've just had a couple of fast units because all of the 2.74 clients started running slower than 2.70. I'm in the process of switching back now.

Yeah, do I need to repatch the client to use SETIQ if I get 2.7? Right now I'm still running the 2.04 GUI because I don't feel like repatching a new client.

Exception: I don't think you can use 127.0.0.1:5512 if you're not continuously on the 'net. That's what I gathered from the SetiQ page, but I could be wrong.
