Why would setiathome run faster on a pIII 500 with 128 mb ram than an athlon 900 with 640 mb ram.

I just upgraded to the 900 sometime ago and for some reason it takes almost twice as long to process one data unit than the 500 did.

Are you using the GUI or CLI?

im guessing the gui, however i dont run the screen saver

The GUI is probably your problem. I have a Athlon 800 and when I used the GUI a WU took over 24 Hrs. to complete :Q. If you switch to the CLI your WU times should greatly decrease!

I have no idea why the PIII would be twice as fast as the Athlon .

how do i go about setting that up? i am currently running win2k

I would recommend using SetiDriver with the CLI, It's a great program.
