seti assimilation

Here is what I just assimilated:

3x Dual PIII (either 700Mhz or ~850Mhz, setispy reads 845Mhz, but he says they are 700's...)
2x Pentium III's, unknown speed

I used the flexinstaller... Lan install wouldn't work for some reason
those machines are at my friend's gf's house...I used terminal server to connect and install.. but I can't really troubleshoot the lan install from here, next time I go over I'll figure out why it didnt work...

Zeruty, What is the OS they are running, obviously the duallies are NT/2K/XP. Did you have Admin rights when you ran the FlexInstaller? IF not then find out the admin account and try that. It can only connect to NT/2K/XP over the LAN and only when your logged in as admin or with admin rights. The LAN install will not work on Win9X/ME since it requires up to 2 reboots to complete, it was dropped as being to much of a hassle to do over the LAN. Let us know whats going on with your efforts in case the FlexInstaller needs some tweaking. 🙂

I wanna find one of those 64 processor server rigs dangit! Gotta be under 2000 though! What do you mean no way? LMAO! 😀 Just gotta find one of those failed DOt Coms.. LOL

Great assimulation!

shux, I was logged into administrator on the machine (through terminal services) which was actually administrator for the active directory or whatever it was called, anyways administrator for the domain....
yes the duallies are 2k server..
one of the singles is 2k pro, and the other I have to assume it is 2k server cause it shows up in the terminal services list, but I couldn't connect to it that way... strangely enough that machine was the only one that apparently worked with the lan install. I'll post anything else in the flexinstaller thread...
thanks
also there are two other 2k pro (means no terminal services) machines at their house that just plain wouldn't work with the lan install... flexinstaller claims it installed ok, I know I had the proxy right, and I am seeing no activity from them on my queue.. so who knows about that
the one thing I would have to say about this guy who has the servers... is he isnt too intelligent.. his machines are definately not set up optimally... he has rich parents (and he's 40+ leeching off his parents!) and just has the machines cause he can.... anyways his network load is horrendous because of his machines being improperly configured...so this isnt going to be the most reliable assimilation... we'll see how it works out

So I?m thinking that we start applying for grants in the name of research and see if someone would donate 70K to us in the name of science. Tell them their money will make a significant impact on cancer research then run UD agent on one machine and SETI on everything else. My calculations estimate almost 440 w/u?s a day based on 3.5 hrs each. <drool>
