Hi!

I figured I might do some SETI again but I can'T find the fast CLI anymore. I tihnk it was something like 3.05 or 3.07, not sure. Any help here?

Yes, go there - do that!!
3.03 is faster, some say by about 15%. There is a security concern but if you have a firewall then you shouldn't worry. There's also some workarounds available if you are really concerned.

Nah, I got a hardware firewall here at the university and my personal one as well, so I'm not much concerned about that. IIRC it's faster on the low angle ones, right?

As soon as I reach my 1.000.000 GFlops milestone in FaD I'll switch over. (probably in a week or so)

v3.03 is faster on "normal" angle-range, while v3.08 is faster on VLAR. Personally I've not seen any noticeable difference on high angle-range...

That being said, the seti-BOINC-version is over 100% more effective. 😉

Crunching 1 result is comparable time-wise to v3.08 "classic", and is around 10% slower than v3.03
But in Seti for BOINC the same wu is only given out to 3 different crunchers, and only if someone misses their deadline or wrong/error is this wu given to more users.
"Classic" on the other hand has average of 7.2 results/wu and climbing so currently it's probably more like 15 results/wu...

In other words, Seti for BOINC only needs half the cpu-power of "classic" to do the same amount of scientific work.

True enough RD but you seem to be forgetting that we are trying to keep BBR behind us ,which in itself is a good enough reason now to keep crunching for the short time left 😛
