Sounds kinda like turning up the oven and opening the fridge door.. I used to mess with cpu cooler progs, but once into DC I felt no need to run more than required. Guess it comes down to what your after, a cold CPU or more WU's. I wonder about cpu cooler progs, when using them and not crunching any numbers (normal use without DC) the cpu temp is up and down like a fart in a jar. When I run DC projects the cpu hit 90*F and stays there, no matter what else you do. I wonder what kind of component stress is involved with constant temperature fluctuations as opposed to a constant temp? I think a good cooler (heat sink) is the most important part of your unit.
