SETI and DVD ripping at the same time?

I bought about 15 DVD's here within like a week. I want to try
ripping DVD while running SETI. The thing is, I never tried running SETI.
How demanding is it?

I know that DVD ripping is demanding. Will I be able to run those
2 things ( DVD2SVCD and SETI ) at the same time?

Yes you can run both at the same time. They will just share the cpu.
