I installed XP couple of weeks ago and forgot about SETI.
i downloaded just now and when i tried to log on it says my account doesn't exsist.
I went to SETI site and looked up my account and it's gone.
user not found?
wtf they delete un used account so fast?
heck i don't feel like starting over.

Are you sure your using the right email address? I had an account inactive for over 6 months and it never got deleted. Try posting this over in the Distributed Computing forum. You may get better assistance over there.

*Edit - don't forget that your username is your entire email address, not just the part before the @

Sorry, read your question wrong😱

Like bunker suggested, make sure you are checking the right email address. I had an inactive account for a year and it was still there when I started Seti again.

nope. click on my SETI sig. i put that link long time ago, and worked fine until i went inactive.

i wonder if SETI deleted @home accounts because @home went under?

:Q

I doubt that since *I'm* on @home... or was. 😛 I just got transitioned today to Comcast's own network, but my @home email is still valid and still works until they get their acts together to switch us over by the end of the month.
Thank god I saved all my old SETI passwords 'cause I'm going to have to change their email addresses! :Q

[EDIT: BTW, I think that only the team founder can delete old accounts. SETI claimed they wouldn't. It could be a stats glitch on their part...?]

Poof, a founder can only "remove" an account from "his" team. He cannot delete them. 😉

/now I better duck and run. Ha 🙂

Nahhh.... I don't have a cane like Ray to wack you with! 😛

I stand corrected! Which means that accounts generally stay around forever (save for accounts that the powers-to-be determine are cheat accounts! 😉) Which is also why they keep bragging about how many "millions" of users they have but we know that only about 450,000 or so are actually "active". 😉
