seti 2.04 GUI vs seti 2.7 GUI

I just downloaded S@H 2.7 for windows today, and started running it in win2k. It is running noticeably slower, and after 4 hours it is less than 35% complete. It was on pace for more than 11 hours, I think. And this is a machine that used to do 1 WU(with 2.04 GUI) in less than 8hrs and 30 mins. I was running Outlook and a few browsers at the same time, but that did not slow down 2.04 this much. Is there anything I can do to improve the time? Also, can I use 2.7 for windows with SetiDriver? The forementioned PC is at work on LAN, but I'm a modem user at home, so I like to download more than 1 WUs as I do now with 2.4 CLI and SetiDriver.

PC at work
P3 550(Katmai)
running 2.04
takes about 8~8.5 hrs, I think

PC at home
C2 566@901
running 2.4
takes about 7~7.5 hrs, if I don't disturb her.

i've found that since i started using seti 2.7, my wu times are extremely varied. most turn out in around eight hours (this is down from the normal 11 or 12 from v2.04). however, i've had a couple that take about 14 hours! overall, my times are dropping like stones, so i'm keeping the v2.7, but like i said my times are much more varied than they were with 2.04. i'd let 2.7 run for a few days to see what happens. you can't judge the whole thing from one wu.
