Seth MacFarlane to re-vamp 'The Flintstones'

The Flintstones are getting a makeover courtesy of Seth MacFarlane. Fox has picked up The Flintstones, a modern take on the Hanna-Barbera classic animated comedy from executive producer MacFarlane. Like the original, the series will focus on the lives of the Flintstones and the Rubbles, two middle-class families living in the dinosaur-era town of Bedrock. The Flintstones will air in 2013.

well, I guess this is a sign that the world is destined for destruction sometime before Christmas 2012. Could be this Saturday, could be later.

Don't count on seeing this one folks, it's just another sign instead.

I went back and watched the first season of the jetsons. It is amazing how sexist it would be by today's standards. I doubt they are even aloud to show some of those episodes on tv, lol. I'm sure flinstones would be the same.

I think it has potential and I'm looking forward to it. I would love my kids to know who the heck the characters are on their vitamins and on the boxes of their cereal.

Great job linking to a thread that has no focus on this subject that doesn't even contain 'Flintstones' on the page you linked.

yeah, not like at least three times or anything

EXCLUSIVE: Seth MacFarlane is one of the busiest creatives in show business -- and he just got a lot busier. I've just learned that he's finally realized one of his life's ambitions: to reboot The Flintstones

1) Good gawd not another remake/reboot. TRY SOMETHING ORIGINAL. I refuse to watch.
2) It's not like The Flintstones needed a refresh. Fred and Barney were edgy enough to shill ciggys back in the day.
3) I am very surprised the Hanna-Barbera Ip-owner allowed this, unless somehow Fox got their hands on the Hanna-Barbera IP through some messed-up hollywood merger shenanigans.
