I don't know if I really want to set it up as a DNS server, but here's my intention:
Our network gets really slow, and there is some latency associated with DNS lookups, so I have set up the hosts file for a few of my most commonly used sites. The problem is of course that it never gets updated, and it would be a royal pain to do it by hand. I'd like to add more entries but have them updated frequently, so I don't get incorrect errors about the availability of a particular server. Is there any freeware software which will allow me to do this? thanks 🙂
