I am just setting up the bios on my new system and see this on Chip Configuration:
SDRAM CAS LATENCY

(choices are)

Auto (Normal)
2.0T (Normal)
2.5T (Normal)
Auto (Turbo)
2.0T (Turbo)
2.5T (Turbo)

So which is fastest & what does this mean?

either of these will do.

Auto (Turbo)
2.0T (Turbo)

It depends on the SPD of the RAM.
If your SPD for the RAM is CAS2 then its the same, otherwise go with the manual one, if the RAM can take it..

2.0 CAS latency is faster than 2.5 (how many cycles latency)

Turbo is faster than Normal RAM timing settings.

Auto is supposed to read optimum settings from EPROM on RAM, but this is rarely programmed/read properly and Auto will many times lead to default settings that are so slow they are compatable with anything.

(hope this helps some, I don't have detailed knowledge... just functional advise)

Thanks, I am used to getting choices like
auto
2,2,2
3,2,2
etc or
5t/7t
7t/9t
so this one threw me for a bit of a loop.
I'll set it for Turbo 2.0 right after the disk format is done.

Now posting from the newest machine in my fleet!
Got seti CLI, seti Driver & Seti Spy all set up & running - crunching it's very first WU now!
First unit has the highest AR I've seen in a while of "angle_range=18.375"
This is running Win XP Pro.
I'll get back to everyone with some WU times after it's done a few!

Now to get that tv card driver installed ;)
